Welcome

Univocal Music's Webshop Univocal Music is a young music production company and record label situated on the west coast of Finland. It was founded in 2009 by Alexandra Sandbäck and Niklas Harju purely for the sake of getting unheard music heard.

Univocal Music first release was Anna Phoenix' single "Hey, Hugo" in April 2010 and after that we took some time off to tour California which inspired us Univocal:ists a lot. After an intense year of producing and recording we proudly released Anna Phoenix' second album “For one and all” in October 2011.

Since 2009 we've also been producing the singer-songwriter compilation album Univocal Collective, which features young singer-songwriters from Finland and the US. It's been a long and intense process but this year the album will see the light of day!

The big news for Univocal Music in 2012 will definitely be the release of local reggae legend krazyFlipy's solo album and taking the band on the road. We will also work with blues woman Havis Amanda on her coming ventures.

We are supporting a lot of local acts through promotion and sales, so do check out our artist page and our webshop before you head on out.

In peace and love,
Alexandra Sandbäck, Niklas Harju & Anna Saarela

I'm visiting Copenhagen, Denmark for a much needed holiday, as well as some promoting for krazyFlipy and Havis Amanda. So far things are going great and I've stayed with Dr. Space himself from Øresund Space Collective. They're releasing a new record soon, 100 of them with handpainted covers. I made a few for them! Be sure to check them out on www.oresundspacecollective.com and pre-order the record West, Space & Love!
Right now I'm staying with Kristian Nielsen from awesome ska band LARiCA! Their albums are free for download at www.larica.dk!

On Wednesday February 22nd our friends Mika Timgren, Alex Holm and Patrik Salmi in Bluesligan played at After Eight in Jakobstad. Univocal's Alexandra was more or less moved to tears - it was a gig of such love and warmth and truth. No one was left untouched. The gig was recorded, so hopefully more of you will be able to hear it later on!
After a bluesy car breakdown Alexandra took Mika and Alex to her place for a good night' rest. Alex was kind enough to point us to his one man jazz band #Attack, and the album recorded in his garage. We're relaxing to this one: sharpattack.bandcamp.com
